Christy’s Story
My wife has had a hard year. Her Mom got her ultimate reward in April 2024 when she stepped into Heaven. As the doctors described it, she had a catastrophic brain bleed. She never left her Momma’s side. She handled it with so much grace and courage. If you ask her, she will say it’s her faith that carried her through. Now back up to February 2023 when they got the diagnosis of lymphoma for her dad. He was fighting the dreaded “c” word. In the middle of all this (July 2023) her father-in-law, my dad, lost his battle with cancer. I guess you can see the pattern of loss our family has faced the past year and an half. After her Mom passed, they were continuing with chemotherapy and added radiation. That took a toll on her already grieving dad. She took him to every appointment and they fought… hard, but ultimately her dad also lost his battle with lymphoma. October 2024 he rejoined her Mom. Her response to grief, “l want others to see Jesus in me. Instead of why me, why not me?!”
She is a selfless wife, mom, and third grade teacher. Her passion is helping others. She has 26 kiddos in her class this year. To say that she has a lot of pressure and stress on her is an understatement. She has talked about getting her teeth fixed for a couple years now. She works so hard to take care of others, I would love to see her get taken care of. She has always had complaints about her teeth and smile. I have heard her say many times that she doesn’t have a pretty smile. I disagree with her! We, her sons and I, would love for her to have the beautiful smile that she wants to match her beautiful spirit. Her love for others is unmatched. Her sons and I are always her priority, so let’s make her a priority and “fix Momma’s grill!”
